Retirement of Chris Rowe and appointment of Shaun Day as Chairman

We are saddened to advise that following a 10-year period at the helm of Blue Ocean Monitoring Limited, Chris Rowe stepped down as Chairman and has retired from the Board as of 7th June 2024. During the last 10 years Chris has guided Blue Ocean’s development from a fledgling R&D company to a widely recognised expert in marine autonomy with solid revenues and an excellent library of innovative technologies.

Chris remains a staunch supporter of the Blue Ocean Monitoring Group and leaves the Group in the capable hands of Shaun Day. Shaun has had a long career in finance including being CFO at Northern Star and currently is the Managing Director of Greatland Gold. In both roles Shaun has been instrumental in navigating their growth journey including arranging investor and debt financing support, both of which will be necessary as Blue Ocean proceeds to commercialisation of its LOCUS and SeasuiteTM technologies. Shaun has been a Non-executive Director of Blue Ocean Monitoring since August 2017.

I’m saddened to retire from the Board having witnessed the Company go from strength to strength in the last ten years. It is always a highlight for me to visit the Bibra Lake facility and see the latest innovations our highly competent team has designed. It is, however, time to hand the baton on and I’m very confident that Shaun will Chair the Group through the upcoming commercialisation activities with distinction.
— Chris Rowe
I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead the Blue Ocean Board through what will be an exciting commercialisation period. I would like to thank Chris for his untiring efforts in leading the Company since its foundation and wish him all the best for the future.
— Shaun Day
